“I wouldn’t have wanted to leave without passing on my knowledge”
Olivier at Votat: it’s the story of a journey that began almost by chance, as he was leaving a carnival, and turned into an adventure spanning 42 wonderful years.
On Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., all his colleagues were there to celebrate this Votat icon. The atmosphere was both festive and deeply moving. And of course, there were a few jokes aimed at the man who’s always smiling and who often sees the bright side of things. I’m told in my earpiece that his car was decked out in some lovely toilet paper (thanks, colleagues).
Olivier is also known for hiding chocolates in the offices at Easter. Sorry, Anne-Cécile WESOLEK—there won’t be any chocolates this year (or maybe there will).
A moment “worthy of a Christmas party,” as he himself described it. Thanks to Philippe MARILLAUD who, as Olivier explains, is committed to the well-being and harmony of his teams.
We asked him what his secret is to staying in the game.
“To last, you have to love what you do above all else. Of course, the salary is important, but it’s not everything. For my part, I could never have gone to work reluctantly.”
Today, a new adventure begins for him. Photography, DIY… and even a hunting blind donated by Votat so he can fully enjoy his passion.
And finally, thank you, Olivier. For your dedication, your energy, and everything you’ve brought to Votat. Thank you for staying on for one more year to share your knowledge and pass the torch. The whole team is looking forward to seeing your wildlife photos!
